What in the world is going on with our country? Don’t get me wrong, I love a good debate just as much as the next person, but I am tired of the Barack/McCain bashing contest. It’s already bad enough that our economy is in major trouble. Let me restate that… corporate corruption has put us in a position that we are now paying to pay them out for bad decision making… all in the name of greediness and cash cash dollar bill, meanwhile it’s on our backs…real…real heavy…killing the middle class…without a severance package of $15.5 Million… just a pink slip that says you have 10 days. Here’s where I stand if you can follow me for a minute: After 911 there was so much talk and acting on uniting as a country and putting our differences aside. Even through the most tragic event we have ever seen, at least in my lifetime, it was amazing how Americans came together as one. There are no words to describe how beautifully we came together as one nation. No longer did it matter which political seat you sat in. Unity not division.
Why was that attitude of helping one another for a greater purpose lost? Think about it: we are at war with ourselves right now because we attack each other politically…are you Republican…are you Democrat? I will still go cast my vote…that is the beauty of our country…we live in a free nation where we have the right to vote. Voting and the right for the people to choose our leaders is the great thing about America…I would never want to live anywhere else. But, I cannot understand why we argue so much and pick apart everything about our running mates. Just food for thought. I know I am not the only one getting tired of negative campaign commercials and ads. It just gets old. So there you have it, and to those running for office keeping it positive and really offer solutions… good for you…
As always… Make it a Good One! Carmen

Mommy Diaries - (Premonitions) By Carmen Brown
True or false…Have you ever had a premonition come true, like a dream for example? Sometimes it can be scary to think about and then sometimes you wish it would come true.
Throughout my life, I have had dreams that are meaningful and have come true. The only deal with that is, I’m not sure which one’s mean something and which one’s are just a vivid imagination. When I was younger, I had a dream about a friend of mine getting into a car crash on the main road he lives off of. Then about 2 days later it really happened. I knew he was going to be alright, just a little scary to think about!
My dreams, if I even remember them, are most of the time just random thoughts. With that being said, a few dreams in my life have warned me or given me insight to upcoming or even past events. I wonder if a lot of people experience this in their life. I’m sure they do, whether they talk about it or not. It is hard to decipher the difference, but we all are connected on one level or another.
Anyway, this leads me to a political dream I just had last night. Fast forward in time, I was watching the numbers rolling in as the count down was on for the next President of the United States. It was such a tight race and very dramatic. I was obsessed, with my eyes tuned to the TV along with everybody else. I believe Obama won the election. It is hard to tell because my dream became a bit fuzzy after that. Also, in that same dream, Elizabeth Dole was re-elected again. Bizarre huh? The reason that I am interested in my dream at this particular point, is because before my ‘political’ dream, I had a minor premonition that came true. Even though it was nothing major, it still makes me question my dreams during this certain time. I also belive that when we are more in touch with our surroundings and more in tune spiritually, we experience life on a deeper level.
Anyway, just food for thought. Hope your week is going well, and as always MAKE IT A GOOD ONE! Carmen

Mommy Diaries (Trim It Down – Work It Out!) By Carmen Brown
Days are flying by more than I could have ever imagined. My typical day now runs from about 4 a.m. to 9:00 or 10 p.m. Welcome to motherhood! It is a very delicate balancing act,and I have now just got a normal routine down. It took a while to balance home and work, but I am feeling much more comfortable and sane after being back to work for around a month!
Here is my new challenge: (like I’m not repeating myself!) getting those extra pounds OFF before they take over my life. My stomach still looks like I am 3 months pregnant, even though I have heard a c-section takes months to get the weight down, uhhhh…it’s been 3 months. Now, I have to say I go to the YMCA and try to stretch out, but I do not have a routine, including diet. Yesterday I ate fast food for the first time in a while and I could just feel the calories packing on. It takes extreme discipline in working out and preparing healthy meals. My cooking style habits have been like a yo-yo. One night I make Salmon and veggies and the next night I cook pizza. It just seems really hard some nights to cook a full healthy meal and actually sit down and enjoy it. Some days you just want to collapse on the couch and play the ‘bouncy man’ game with my son! He likes to practice standing up with a little help! Anyway, I need to learn preparation… getting the week ready… so on. This is all new to me and I have never really had to worry about my weight. Also with that being said, I have always remained really active. That helps!
So, here we go, I am getting really serious about working out and feeling better with MORE energy. That’s all for now, so wish me luck and if you know any diet or program…way of life that really worked for you…let me know!! I’m not into ‘fad’ diets… I think they are a joke! Thanks, and as always make it a good one! Carmen Brown
