Mommy Diaries - -In the World of…By Carmen Brown

Kicking off another week and what a fabulous weekend it was! Fresh air and quality time with my family! Considering last weekend I was in bed sick as a dog. Ahhhh…even though I’m not back 100 percent, I feel a TON better. It just breaks my heart that Tyson has a cold now. Bless his heart, he sounds so congested some days and then other days are better. The doctor told me a cold in an infant can last up to 3 weeks. Just say a prayer he feels better soon J

Saturday I finally got back into my workout schedule. My girlfriend came to visit from Boone and she has been on the South Beach Diet. I have never been a fan of ‘DIETS’ from books and fads, but I can really tell a difference in the way she feels and looks. It’s amazing (so if you are reading this, keep it up girly!). Anyway, my goal is to drop 15 to 20 pounds. I have to remind myself that I just had a baby 12 weeks ago, so not to be that hard on myself. Even with that being said, it does not give me a reason to slack off!

Other than that, Emory and I had a ‘date’ night. It is so funny how life changes. One minute your taking advantage of the fact you can go out every single night and then your life turns very structured, very organized and planned more than you thought it would be. Even though it is a complete change as far as that goes, I really enjoy a more structured and fulfilled life. I could not imagine my life without Tyson. Emory and I went to one of my favorite places on Saturday night…Bonefish Grill. Yuuummmmm J It was so tasty. I had a wonderful glass of wine that paired great with the Grouper. Westbend Riesling. Any wine lovers out there must try it. It would be great alone or with a mild white fish. Also, isn’t Westbend a local vineyard? That’s also something I look forward to this Fall…visiting local vineyards. Not only do we have the most beautiful landscapes in North Carolina, we also have some of the best vineyards you can tour and tastings. One of my friends puts together group tours if anybody is interested, let me know, I can hook you up. Also, we can all look forward to long trips to the mountains…the most gorgeous time of the year…all the leaves are changing. It’s in the air…crisp, clean, pumpkin candles and pies…I LOVE IT!! Not to mention red wine on the back deck with a girlfriend in a pull over fleece. There’s nothing like it. Love it…Love it J As always, make it a good one! Carmen J
